The
Gold Standard MCAT with Online Practice MCAT CBTs by
Dr. Brett L. Ferdinand, MD
Buy
this book from Amazon.com
We firmly believe that this is the best and most complete MCAT textbook available on the market. The book, now in its 16th edition, is a comprehensive review of the new MCAT and provides strategies, preparation ideas, and sample questions to help you study.
The full-color illustrations are aesthetically pleasing and accurate. We love the book's organization, which clearly shows you just what you need to know as well as what information is optional to learn. If you only purchase one book for your MCAT study needs, this 952-page book is the one.
ExamKrackers: Complete MCAT Study

Our most up-to-date information on the MCAT comes from
clients who have recently taken the test – and we
continue to hear overwhelmingly positive feedback from
them on the usefulness of this study package. Nearly 1,000 pages
of text are included in this 5 volume set.

ExamKrackers: MCAT Audio Osmosis by
Jonathan Orsay
Buy
this set of 12 CDs from Amazon.com
While we are not generally big
fans of audio sets, this
Examkrackers audio package has several rather unique
characteristics that appeal to us. The CD format makes
it much easier to "rewind" to the
beginning of the different topics; having 2 people
conduct a dialog rather than a single narrator reading a
script makes the presentation easier to follow; and the
use of humor and sound effects, interspersed throughout
the CDs, holds the listener's attention and makes the
presentations more memorable. The set's title is very appropriate
– you do learn much simply from absorbing the spoken
information provided by this package. If you are a commuter, this can add many hours to
your MCAT preparation that otherwise would have been
wasted in the car.
Ace's Exambuster MCAT Study Cards by
Elizabeth R. Burchard (Editor)
Buy
these study cards from Amazon.com These study cards will help you
prepare for the MCAT by reviewing basic biology, chemistry,
and physics definitions, formulas and concepts.
There are a total of over
1,100 cards in this set,
covering those three subjects. (Please note, however,
that organic chemistry is NOT covered.)
We have found study cards like these to be an excellent diagnostic
tool for discovering which areas you are weak in and
should focus on in your review.
Examkrackers
MCAT Biology by
Jonathan Orsay
Buy
this book from Amazon.com
This book reviews all
of the biology tested by the MCAT.
It includes nine, 30-minute exams in the MCAT format,
plus 135 additional stand-alone questions. We particularly
like this book because it provides a clear and accurate
explanation of the concepts needed to ace the MCAT.
It also gives plenty of time-saving pointers on what
is really important for test preparation, and what is not.
Examkrackers MCAT 101 Passages in MCAT Verbal Reasoning by
David Orsay
Buy
this book from Amazon.com
Our clients keep telling us that this is the best MCAT verbal reasoning
book on the market and we agree. The one "negative" (if that's
what you want to call it) about the book is that the
questions are slightly harder than the real ones you
will get from the AAMC. The way we see it, you are
only going to excel if you are really pushed and the
other verbal reasoning books we have seen contain
questions that are just too easy. Let's use a sports
analogy. You have to prepare for 80 mph sliders. Would
you like to see 85 mph sliders in the batting cage or 60
mph sliders?
Examkrackers 1001 Questions in MCAT
Organic Chemistry by Michelle Gilbertson
Buy
this book from Amazon.com
We never had to speak to too many applicants to
determine that organic chemistry causes a lot of stress
and trepidation. This book is a great resource if you
want extra practice with org chem.
Examkrackers 1001 Questions in MCAT Chemistry by
Scott Calvin and Jonathan Orsay
Buy
this book from Amazon.com
This is another good book from Examkrackers. If you want
extra repetition with chemistry, this is an excellent
choice!
MCAT Physics Book by
Garrett Biehle
Buy
this book from Amazon.com
The MCAT Physics Book offers a very comprehensive
and rigorous analysis of MCAT physics. The book's 444
pages includes 49 MCAT-style passages with 500 MCAT-style
practice problems, plus detailed explanations
of the solutions to all problems.
The book's MCAT questions are not quite as difficult
as the actual
test questions, but this
book is nonetheless a
good review for the test taker who has not sat
in a physics class for a while.
