Just in time to help veterinary students with the upcoming application season, AdmissionsConsultants
welcomes their newest addition to the consulting team: Barbara Coats. "Barbara is a talented addition to the team," said
President and founder David Petersam. "Her experience as an MBA with a Communication emphasis and her extensive knowledge
of the admissions, interview and veterinary school processes, gives us the ability to offer a unique service to assist
and guide those applicants through the intricacies of a VMCAS application while pursuing their career as a veterinarian
at any of our country's 28 accredited vet schools."
Barbara served as Student Affairs Coordinator for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University
for 14 years, aiding the admissions committee in decisions on thousands of applicants to the school. Additionally,
Barbara was heavily involved in the development of the centralized application service (VMCAS) for veterinary schools,
and has served on the VMCAS Executive Admissions Committee. She has also edited several recent works of fiction,

Barbara's expertise and first-hand perspective allows her to give applicants the best guidance possible in the
application process. She advises students, "Veterinary schools are looking for students whose academic
records and test scores indicate that they can handle a demanding vet school curriculum. They also look for
students who understand the realities of veterinary practice and who are prepared to meet the growing needs
in the profession, be those needs private practice, research, industry or education. They want students with
the stamina and commitment needed to excel in a long and demanding course of study."
